THE INSTALLATION PROCESS
What a single room installation involves
A split system has two parts — an indoor wall unit and an outdoor condenser, connected by pipework running through a small hole in the wall. Your installer positions both units, runs the pipework, connects the electrics, and commissions the system.
Indoor unit positioned
Wall-mounted in your chosen location. High on the wall for best airflow — typically above a door or window.
Outdoor condenser placed
Usually on an external wall, in a garden, or on a flat roof. Your installer advises on the best position for noise and aesthetics.
Pipework and electrics connected
A small core hole through the wall connects the two units. Pipework is clipped neatly to the wall or chased in where preferred.
System commissioned and tested
Refrigerant charged, system tested on all modes. You're walked through how to use it before the engineer leaves.

ABOUT PRICING
What affects the final price?
Our estimates cover most standard installations. A few factors can move the price up or down — your installer will flag any of these during the site visit, before any work begins.
Wall construction
Solid brick walls take longer to core drill than cavity or timber frame, adding to labour cost.
Cable run distance
Longer distances between indoor and outdoor units require more pipework and labour.
Outdoor unit placement
Ground level is simplest. Roof or high wall mounting requires additional fixings and access equipment.
Property type
Period properties, listed buildings, and top-floor flats can require additional care and time.
Brand and specification
Premium brands carry a higher equipment cost. Your installer will recommend what's right for your budget.
AC MANUFACTURERS
